About the school

John Whitgift Academy is part of Delta Academies Trust and is located in North East Lincolnshire. The academy is rapidly expanding with student numbers increasing year on year. It currently has over 900 students aged 11 to 16 and is the highest performing academy in the region. It ranks in the top 4 per cent of the most improved academies in the country. The academy maintains a small school friendly atmosphere with excellent relationships between students and staff and a strong focus on learning and aspiration. Facilities include an Engineering block, two full size swimming pools and a 207-seater cinema. The academy is situated close to the A180.

Delta Academies Trust places strong emphasis on modern foreign language learning. It has developed carefully sequenced five-year curriculum plans for French and Spanish, fully resourced with detailed lessons, knowledge organisers and an online coursebook. Each unit includes a cultural topic. The trust employs 17 native-speaking modern language assistants across its 17 secondary academies and subscribes to an online vocabulary learning platform.

The role

John Whitgift Academy seeks an outstanding, committed and motivated Teacher of French to join the academy in November 2026 on a part-time, permanent basis. Early Career Teachers are welcome to apply.
