About the school
The English College, Dubai, is one of the oldest schools in the city with a 33-year history. It is an established, independent, co-educational British curriculum all-through school offering education from EYFS to Year 13. Located centrally off Sheikh Zayed Road, the school provides a rich learning environment where students are guided to learn, thrive and make a difference. The school is very well-resourced. Its state-of-the-art STEAM centre, opened in August 2025, includes DT labs, a graphics studio, a media suite and a robotics studio. The role
A positive, reflective and inspiring Teacher of Geography is required to join the Humanities Faculty and Secondary School from August 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate a growth mindset, high expectations of staff and students, and a commitment to continuous professional learning. They will be passionate about supporting students to develop holistically, academically, emotionally, physically and socially.
The post offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, forward-thinking school with motivated students and supportive parents. A creative approach to teaching and learning is essential, along with the ability to inspire students of diverse talents and abilities and to use data effectively to meet the needs of all learners.
Key responsibilities
- Teach Geography through to A Level.
- Teach other science subjects to KS3 and/or KS4 as required.
- Maintain the highest expectations for all students and provide appropriate challenge and support.
- Contribute to the pastoral care and wellbeing of learners.
- Play a significant role in the safeguarding of students.
- Support the wider curriculum and contribute to the thriving extra-curricular life of the school.
Requirements
- Hold a good honours degree and a QTS or PGCE teaching qualification, preferably from the UK.
- Have a minimum of two years’ teaching experience.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, high qualification and an excellent track record.
- Be able to provide an ICPC and a UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check.
- Be professional in appearance and conduct.
- Show alignment with the school’s core purpose, vision and values.
- Be a committed team player with drive, energy and passion.
- Be willing to contribute to the wider curriculum and support the school’s vision.
