About the school

The English College, Dubai, is one of the oldest schools in the city with a 33-year history. It is an established, independent, co-educational British curriculum all-through school offering education from EYFS to Year 13. Located centrally off Sheikh Zayed Road, the school provides a rich learning environment where students are guided to learn, thrive and make a difference. The role

A positive, reflective and inspiring Teacher of Geography is required to join the Humanities Faculty and Secondary School from August 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate a growth mindset, high expectations of staff and students, and a commitment to continuous professional learning. They will be passionate about supporting students to develop holistically, academically, emotionally, physically and socially.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Geography through to A Level.
• Teach other science subjects to KS3 and/or KS4 as required.
• Maintain the highest expectations for all students and provide appropriate challenge and support.
• Contribute to the pastoral care and wellbeing of learners.
• Play a significant role in the safeguarding of students.
• Support the wider curriculum and contribute to the thriving extra-curricular life of the school.

Requirements

• Hold a good honours degree and a QTS or PGCE teaching qualification, preferably from the UK.
• Have a minimum of two years’ teaching experience.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, high qualification and an excellent track record.
• Be able to provide an ICPC and a UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check.
• Be professional in appearance and conduct.
• Show alignment with the school’s core purpose, vision and values.
• Be a committed team player with drive, energy and passion.
• Be willing to contribute to the wider curriculum and support the school’s vision.
