The role

Sherborne Schools Group seeks an exceptional and creative Teacher of Geography to join Hanford Prep School on a fixed-term basis from 1 January 2027 to 31 August 2027. The position is part-time at 0.4 full-time equivalent and term time only. The postholder will teach Geography as their primary subject while contributing to the wider life of the school and supporting initiatives across the Sherborne Schools Group. From time to time, the role may require work at other schools or sites within the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver inspiring Geography lessons to pupils aged 7 to 13.
• Contribute to the wider life of Hanford Prep School.
• Support initiatives across the Sherborne Schools Group as required.
• Work at other Group sites when necessary to meet operational needs.

Requirements

• Essential expertise in Geography.
• The ability to teach additional subjects is an advantage.
• Willingness to undergo child protection screening, including reference checks, criminal record checks and social media checks.
• Understanding that all positions within the schools are exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
