The Governors are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Music / Music Co-ordinator. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a small team within the faculty group, teaching Music at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Pupils within the department are prepared for the GCSE Music examination and other qualifications as appropriate. The post-holder will develop and follow departmental schemes of work and be skilled in the planning and preparation of lessons, as well as the assessment of pupils’ work, in accordance with all school policies and procedures.

 

The Music Coordinator aspect of the role encompasses the organisation and provision of music-related activities on the School’s co-curricular timetable, and the organisation of peripatetic music lessons for the pupils who are interested in singing lessons or playing a musical instrument. The successful applicant will have a range of musical skills and show a commitment to providing a range of musical activities for the pupils at the School.

The post-holder will report to the Head of Faculty, Assistant Head (Curriculum) and, ultimately, the Headmaster.
