The Music Department aims to enable every pupil, regardless of ability, to experience the highest quality and widest range of music possible. The role

We seek to appoint a full-time Teacher of Music, with part-time considered, to join our flourishing schools. The ideal applicant will be an experienced and outstanding musician who will use their experience, skills and aptitudes to further improve pupils’ attainment, continue to help raise the profile of music, inspire and motivate pupils to achieve and develop their full potential, work with the Head of Department to deliver effective, engaging and interesting subject teaching, and support the School’s expectation of excellent educational provision while safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality music teaching across the curriculum
• Support the Head of Department in maintaining and raising standards
• Act as academic tutor to around 16 pupils at King Edward’s
• Participate in one evening duty per week in one of the Houses
• Contribute to the co-curricular and pastoral life of the School, including sports, arts, community and other activities on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings

Requirements

• Experienced and outstanding musician with a proven record of raising attainment
• Ability to inspire and motivate pupils of all abilities
• Commitment to delivering effective, engaging and interesting subject teaching
• Strong support for excellent educational provision and the safeguarding of children
