The role

We seek to appoint a full-time Teacher of Music, with part-time considered, to join the flourishing schools. The ideal applicant will be an experienced and outstanding musician who will use their experience, skills and aptitudes to further improve pupils’ attainment, continue to help raise the profile of music, inspire and motivate pupils to achieve and develop their full potential, work with the Head of Department to deliver effective, engaging and interesting subject teaching, and support the School’s expectation of excellent educational provision while safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Key responsibilities

  • Academic tutoring of around 16 pupils at King Edward’s for full-time teachers, including a duty evening in one of the Houses.
  • Participation in the co-curricular and pastoral life of the School according to skills and aptitude, including a wide range of sports, arts, community and other activities in the afternoons and on Saturday mornings.

Requirements

  • Experienced and outstanding musician with the ability to raise attainment and the profile of music.
  • Capacity to inspire and motivate pupils to achieve their full potential.
  • Ability to work with the Head of Department to deliver effective, engaging and interesting subject teaching.
  • Commitment to excellent educational provision and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
