The role

Allerton Grange School seeks a Teacher of Music who is passionate about the subject and eager to work as part of a talented team of professionals in a curriculum-focused role. The successful candidate will be an inspirational teacher with a proven track record of success.

Key responsibilities

  • Embrace current curriculum changes and drive up progress and outcomes.
  • Inspire, engage and enthuse students, staff and the wider community.
  • Collaborate with key leaders across the school to support further improvement.
  • Lead and conduct extra-curricular ensembles.
  • Contribute to the department’s enrichment opportunities, including a yearly European tour, daily after-school sessions, four to five concerts per year and trips.
  • Support the Curriculum Leader in primary transition work.
  • Make innovative contributions to the curriculum.

Requirements

  • Professional drive, energy, determination and aspiration.
  • Well-established and confident musician, including singing.
  • Strong subject knowledge and advanced theory knowledge (Grade 5 theory minimum) to assist with high-end composition.
  • Competence in using music software such as Sibelius, Garage Band and Logic Pro.
  • Ability to work effectively within a comprehensive, multi-cultural community.
