About the school

Bishop Walsh Catholic School is part of the St John Paul II Multi Academy, a highly successful Catholic Multi Academy encompassing nine primary schools and two secondary schools located in the northern area of Birmingham. The ethos of the Multi Academy is Catholic and was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families. All staff are expected to give their full, unreserved and positive support for the aims and ethos of the Multi Academy.

The role

The Governors of Bishop Walsh Catholic School are seeking to appoint a passionate, driven and forward-thinking Teacher of PE. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong subject knowledge, enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to securing excellent progress for all students.

This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover post from 01 October 2026 until 31 May 2027, with a view to extend to 18 July 2027. The salary is paid on the Main Pay Scale (MPS) and the start date is October 2026.

Requirements

• Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education
• Enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to securing excellent progress for all students
• Ability to speak fluent English, as required by Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016
• Full support for the Catholic aims and ethos of the Multi Academy
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and staff
