Teacher of Physics (Maternity Cover) Basic
About the school
Bruern Abbey is a unique family of two schools that provide specialist education and pastoral support exclusively for boys (and soon girls) diagnosed with dyslexia, dyspraxia or other neurodivergence. Owing to the successes of Bruern Abbey Prep School, well-established as the only mainstream prep school in the country that caters exclusively for boys diagnosed with special educational needs, Bruern Abbey Senior School launched in September 2022 on an impressive site in Chilton, Buckinghamshire.
In August 2025, the school received its first set of GCSE results, with boys adding nearly three grades to their baseline predictions across their subjects. Bruern Senior is committed to providing a tailored education in inspiring surroundings and maintains high expectations for all boys academic futures. The school has recently expanded, adding more boarding accommodation and dedicated teaching spaces.
Bruern Abbey is proud to be a member of the Bellevue Education group and benefits from shared best-practice and resources, in addition to focused training programmes. The majority of boys board on a weekly basis, arriving on Monday morning and departing by 4pm on Friday. Around half of the teaching staff live on the site and support boarding in the evenings.
