The role
The successful candidate will be an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner teaching Science and Physics across the secondary phase up to the end of Key Stage 5 (Year 13). The school follows the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3, IGCSE at Key Stage 4 and the IB Diploma programme in the Sixth Form. Combined and individual sciences are offered at IGCSE, with Physics available at HL/SL in the IB Diploma. Training will be provided for teachers who wish to develop expertise in delivering the IB Diploma programme, provided they possess the required subject knowledge. There is the possibility of a Middle Leadership role for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with developing the school's Physics programme as a member of the Science department.
- Commit to the life of the school through the after-school programme and participation in events and activities throughout the year.
- Deliver high levels of pastoral care with an inclusive approach to education.
- Support the raising of attainment across all ability levels.
Requirements
- Experience of teaching Science and Physics across the secondary phase up to Key Stage 5.
- Strong team player with the ability to adapt quickly to new situations and a flexible approach to problem solving.
- Commitment to child-centred education and a deep-rooted desire to help every child reach their potential.
- Interest in raising attainment across all ability levels.
