About the school
The English College Dubai is one of the oldest schools in Dubai, with a 33-year history. It is an established, independent, co-educational British curriculum all-through school from EYFS to Year 13, located centrally off Sheikh Zayed Road. The role
A Teacher of Psychology and Sociology is required for a January 2027 start in the Secondary School. The successful candidate will be positive, reflective and inspiring, with a growth mindset and high expectations of staff and students. They will engage in ongoing professional learning and demonstrate a creative approach to teaching and learning that inspires and motivates students of diverse talents and abilities. A willingness to teach Psychology and Sociology through to A level, together with the ability to teach other science subjects to KS3 and/or KS4, is essential. Key responsibilities
- Teach Psychology and Sociology to A level and other science subjects to KS3 and/or KS4.
- Use data effectively to meet the needs of all learners and provide appropriate challenge and support.
- Contribute to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
- Play a significant role in the safeguarding of students.
- Support the wider curriculum and extra-curricular programme.
Requirements
- Good honours degree.
- QTS or PGCE teaching qualification, preferably from the UK.
- Minimum of two years’ teaching experience.
- Ability to provide an ICPC and a UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Honesty, transparency and integrity.
- Willingness to contribute to the wider curriculum and support the school’s vision.
