The role

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and ambitious Teacher of Science to join our popular STEAM specialist Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and inspirational teacher who is passionate about Science. The successful candidate will teach KS3-KS5 Biology. Both experienced and Early Careers Teachers are encouraged to apply. The ability to teach at A level is essential.

Salary is Inner London UCL Pay Scale (MPS/UPS equivalent) plus £900 academy allowance. The post is full time and permanent, required ASAP, and located in Swiss Cottage, London Borough of Camden, NW3 3AQ.

The Academy will consider additional responsibilities for the right candidate, which may include curriculum development or support. This can be discussed further at interview if interested.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and teach a curriculum which is both inspiring and engaging and includes elements of cutting edge research.
• Enrich students with practical and real-life context self-directed activities.
• Encourage participation in the iGEM competition, Global Experiment, CREST awards, Greenpower Electric Car competition and Salter's chemistry festivals.

Requirements

• Ability to teach Biology at A level is essential.
• Passion for Science and the capacity to deliver inspiring lessons across KS3 to KS5.
• All appointments are subject to receipt of a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, pre-employment checks and a probation period.
