The role
Aldar Academies is seeking outstanding Primary Teachers for maternity-cover positions at Pearl British Academy. Start dates are available in December, February and March. Candidates must demonstrate secure knowledge of the English National Curriculum and a proven track record of raising standards and ensuring outstanding progress for all pupils.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver outstanding teaching and learning in line with the school’s Teaching and Learning Policy.
- Create a climate for learning that supports outstanding practice and maintain pace, challenge and engagement.
- Identify clear teaching and learning objectives, set targets building on prior attainment, and differentiate for SEN, EAL and G&T pupils.
- Make effective use of assessment for learning, performance data and ICT to inform planning and improve outcomes.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the school’s Behaviour for Learning Policy and encourage high standards of punctuality, behaviour and homework.
- Mark pupils’ work at least once every two weeks, set targets for progress and keep systematic records.
- Prepare and present informative reports to parents and attend parent and student events.
- Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related subject together with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum of one to two years’ experience as a classroom teacher delivering the English National Curriculum.
- Commitment to the school’s vision and values and a passion for education with belief in the potential of every pupil.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of current developments in education and of child protection and safeguarding.
- Experience of teaching across the ability range with proven success.
- Ability to work under pressure, solve problems and demonstrate resilience.
