Teacher - Psychology (January 2027) Basic

The role

Aldar Education in Abu Dhabi seeks a Teacher of Psychology to join the academy from January 2027. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality learning and teaching while meeting all regulatory and professional standards expected within the academy.

Key responsibilities

• Create a climate conducive to outstanding learning and teaching by identifying clear objectives, specifying teaching and assessment methods, and setting appropriately challenging tasks that sustain high levels of student interest.
• Set demanding expectations and clear targets that build on prior attainment, while identifying students with special educational needs or exceptional ability.
• Provide clear lesson structures that maintain pace, motivation and challenge, making effective use of assessment to ensure full coverage of programmes of study.
• Use performance data and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated learning matched to individual needs.
• Ensure effective teaching and the best use of available time while maintaining an orderly learning environment that promotes punctuality, positive behaviour, high standards of work and completion of homework.
• Mark and monitor student work, set targets for progress and use performance data to ensure teaching continues to add value.
• Assess and record student progress systematically, keeping accurate records that inform planning and recognise achievement levels.
• Undertake assessments as required by examination bodies and academy procedures, and prepare informative reports for parents.
• Contribute to subject development and whole-academy visioning by producing plans with clear targets and success criteria.

Requirements

• Comply with all health and safety legislation and academy policies on safe working practice and equal opportunities.
• Meet the requirements of the academy Performance Management Policy, including the setting of challenging annual targets and acting as a reviewer when directed.
• Complete annual training in child protection, safeguarding and health and safety, together with any additional training required for academy improvement or performance management.
• Adhere to the academy staff dress code at all times, including the wearing of photo identification.
• Follow the academy Acceptable Use Policy for computers at all times.
• Attend all staff briefings and complete accurate sign-in and sign-out procedures when off-site during the working day.
