Teaching Assistant (KS2-4)
The role
Gad's Hill School in Kent is seeking a Teaching Assistant with an anticipated start date of 27th August 2026. The successful applicant will support pupils in 1:1, small group and class contexts across the Junior and Upper Schools (Key Stages 2 to 4), with flexibility to align assignments to specific skills and experience. Teaching Assistants also contribute to homework clubs and the wider extra-curricular programme.
The post requires a professional who is passionate about working with children and able to develop the trust and confidence of parents. The successful candidate will value collaborative teamwork and demonstrate commitment, drive and enthusiasm.
Key responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning across Key Stages 2 to 4 in 1:1, small group and whole-class settings.
- Assist pupils with special educational needs and disabilities to access high-quality learning experiences.
- Contribute to homework clubs and the school's extra-curricular programme.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues as part of a collaborative team.
Requirements
Essential qualities:
- Excellent practitioner who develops very good relationships with students.
- Experience of working with children, including those with SEND.
- Good written and communication skills.
- Excellent standards of professionalism.
Desirable qualifications:
- Evidence of continuing and relevant professional development.
- Level 2 or 3 childcare or teaching assistant qualification, or equivalent.
