Teaching Assistant

The role

Outwood Academy Portland in Nottinghamshire seeks a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about removing learning barriers and enabling every student to reach their potential. Working directly with teachers, you will implement tailored learning activities and provide essential academic and welfare support to individuals and small groups. The varied role includes classroom support, intervention management for SEND and EAL students, and helping to develop individualised student support plans. The Academy’s single goal is “Students First”.

The role is to promote the learning and welfare of students by providing practical and learning support, including to those with statements of special educational needs, under the direction of the class teacher.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom support and tailored learning activities in collaboration with teachers.
• Manage interventions for SEND and EAL students.
• Contribute to the development of individualised student support plans.
• Provide practical and learning support to students under the direction of the class teacher.

Benefits & package

Working pattern: 34 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks).
