About the school

Hazelwick School is a high-achieving and oversubscribed 11-18 mixed secondary school with over 1900 students, including more than 380 in the Sixth Form. Located in West Sussex, the school is one of the highest performing in the county, with a Progress 8 score of +0.30 in 2024. Ofsted judged the school to be outstanding in all areas in October 2023. The role

This is a full-time temporary post to cover maternity leave, commencing January 2027. The successful candidate will join a large and thriving Maths department that achieved a very positive Progress 8 score in 2024. Maths is a popular subject at KS5, with eight A level Maths classes, two Further Maths classes and two Core Maths classes. The department offers strong support, camaraderie and opportunities to share resources and good practice.

Requirements

• A Maths specialist teacher with the experience and ability to teach KS3 and KS4. The ability to teach KS5 is desirable.
• A positive teacher who can enthuse, motivate and engage students and is committed to excellence and high student achievement.
• A teacher with a passion for working with young people and the perseverance to make a difference to them and their future.
• A teacher with a focus on their own professional development and a drive to work with the school to become the best teacher they can be.
