The role
Sotogrande International School is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Theatre & Performing Arts Centre Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation and development of its state-of-the-art Performing Arts Centre. This part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in creating an outstanding environment for creativity, performance, and artistic expression, supporting both curricular and co-curricular programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the Performing Arts Centre, including the theatre, dance and drama studios, music rehearsal spaces, and film production facilities.
- Coordinate bookings, scheduling, and the effective use of specialist performing arts spaces.
- Oversee performances, productions, concerts, showcases, examinations, and special events, ensuring professional delivery and high-quality experiences.
- Support technical requirements including lighting, sound, staging, recording, and audiovisual provision.
- Liaise with staff, students, contractors, and external organisations to ensure facilities and equipment are maintained and fully operational.
- Maintain records, manage inventories, support budgeting processes, and coordinate communications relating to events and venue use.
- Promote student participation and contribute to the development of a vibrant performing arts culture within the school.
- Support external partnerships and community engagement initiatives.
Requirements
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Theatre, Performing Arts, Arts Management, Event Management, Education, or a related field.
- Experience managing theatres, performing arts venues, cultural centres, or educational arts facilities.
- Strong organisational, project management, and event coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A sound understanding of health and safety requirements within performance environments.
