Founded in 1932, St. Julian’s is a highly successful British international school for children aged 3 to 18. It is a unique and special place in character, history and location. The School is about to embark on a €40 million building project over five years that will see significant enhancements to the existing site.

The role

St. Julian’s School seeks a Visiting Music Teacher specialising in Cello. The Music Department is housed in a repurposed Palácio, although much of the one-to-one teaching takes place in multiple spaces across the site. All students study Music for at least one hour a week until the end of Year 9, with strong uptake for GCSE and IB courses. The department comprises four full-time teaching staff, an administrator and 18 Visiting Music Teachers.

The starting date is September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instrumental lessons for students, enabling them to perform to high standards and achieve their full potential in music lessons and performances.
• Deliver mainly one-to-one lessons, with possible opportunities to assist with the school’s busy and successful extra-curricular programme.
• Work closely with the Music Administrator and under the direct guidance of the Director of Music.
