Visiting Music Teacher of Cello and Double Bass Basic

The role

Wolverhampton Grammar School seeks a well-qualified and inspiring musician to teach Cello and Double Bass. The post is currently for half a day a week during term time and is likely to expand throughout the year. The role involves providing individual, paired and group instrumental tuition, with the possible opportunity to run a string ensemble. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Music to promote music throughout the school community and create the framework within which pupils can actively engage in music at all levels and in a variety of forms.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality individual, paired and group instrumental tuition in Cello and Double Bass.
• Support the promotion of music across the school community in collaboration with the Head of Music.
• Provide opportunities for pupils to engage in music at all levels and in varied forms.
• Organise and run a string ensemble where appropriate.

Requirements

• Well-qualified and inspiring musician with expertise in Cello and Double Bass.
• Organised, enthusiastic, motivated and committed to delivering high-quality individual education.
• Ability to work effectively within an award-winning music department.
